The problem

Commission is the one part of your business nobody tracks for you.

Your host tracks sales. Suppliers track bookings. Nobody tracks whether the money you earned actually showed up — so it lives in a spreadsheet, your inbox, or your head.

Pay dates are all different

Before travel, after travel, 30 days after, whenever the batch runs. Across all your suppliers, nobody keeps that straight in their head.

Short payments slip past

A $17 fee withheld here, a missed booking there. Without something to check against, you never notice.

Tax time is a scramble

Which commissions arrived this year, how much GST was in them, and what goes on your tax return. You end up rebuilding it from bank statements.

What it does

Everything between the sale and the deposit.

01

Add bookings in seconds

Upload a supplier invoice as a PDF, or take a photo of it with your phone, and Arrivals reads the booking reference, passenger, travel dates and commission. It reads invoices from suppliers like WestJet Vacations, Air Canada Vacations, Royal Caribbean and Holland America Line, and we add more all the time. Expedia TAAP reports import in one go. You check every number before it’s saved.

02

Know each supplier’s pay date

Some suppliers pay three weeks before departure. Others pay a month after the client gets home. Arrivals estimates the date for each booking, so you know when to expect it, and if your terms with a supplier are different, you can set your own.

03

A chase list that builds itself

When a commission passes its expected date and money is still owed, it goes on the chase list. One click writes a follow-up email listing the late bookings, ready to send from your own email to the supplier or your host.

04

Your real share, tiers and all

Arrivals works out your share of every booking, shows how far you are from the next tier, and if your host re-rates the year when you move up, it adds the top-up you’re owed on earlier bookings.

05

Know how much tax to set aside

Arrivals works out the GST/HST in each commission at your province’s rate and shows how much of it to put aside, so you aren’t caught short when it’s time to file. If you also charge PST or QST, enter your combined rate.

06

Year-end, ready for tax time

Commission is counted by the date it actually arrived and totalled for your T2125, the form self-employed advisors file with their tax return to report business income. Export the year as a spreadsheet for your bookkeeper or accountant.
